baking: lemon lavendar sugar cookies

my husband is cheating on me....
with lavender
he eats it in ice cream, he eats it in cheese
he even makes this "mmmMMMmmm" noise
that I have never heard until that smutty purple plant came into our home
so this recipe is for all you adulterers out there!

 lemon lavender sugar cookies
gather your ingredients
flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, light corn syrup, egg (not pictured), lemon, lemon extract, butter, lavender
preheat the oven to 325 degrees
cream 3/4 a cup of butter with 1 cup of sugar until creamy
add one egg, 2 tablespoons of corn syrup,1 teaspoon of lemon extract and 1 tablespoon of lavender
(that home-wrecker!)
mix thoroughly
next add 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder and 1 teaspoon of baking soda
mix again
i wait until the very end to add lemon zest for more flavor and texture
mix into the batter until evenly distributed
line a cookie sheet with parchment paper
place cookie dough in 1 tablespoon balls on the cookie sheet
sprinkle the tops with sugar and lemon zest
bake for 12-14 minutes
you want the edges a light brown
if you wait until they are darkened, then they will be too hard once cooled
place cookies on a cooling rack
plate cookies with more lemon zest and enjoy
just make sure your husband doesn't go floozying around with these sweet little thangs!
