clean: my daily routine

One way I keep house is by following my Cardinal Rules of Clean. I do the follow 5 things religiously.

1. Make the bed
By beginning your day with this small task, you put yourself in the mindset that you are going to keep a clean house. Plus, crawling into a cloud of wonderful at the end of a long day is so worth the 5 minutes it takes to make the bed. I already dream about the end of my day before it even begins!

2. Wipe the Counters
Spills are easily cleaned up when still wet. I use a wash cloth to clean my face everyday and after all is said and done, I use it to wipe the bathroom counter and sink. Good bye foundation and toothpaste spills.

3. Do Laundry EVERYDAY
I know most people don't like to torture themselves on a daily basis but once you get use to it, it becomes routine. It also helps support our means of having less clothing. Since we cloth diaper our baby, laundry is a must anyways.

4. Manage Clutter
A clutter free home clears my mind. Before bed I always do a home sweep. I walk around room to room and put random things away, put the toilet seat down (I have no idea why this task is so daunting for my family?) and organize and file paperwork.

5. Write your To Do List
At the end of everyday, I write my to do list and plan my next day. It helps me stragetize what is a priority and how to effectively run about time. I have a racing mind so it also helps me fall asleep instead of laying in bed thinking about everything else I should be doing except sleeping.

What do you do on a daily basis that helps maintain your household?
